Supporting WFP in helping the most needed

Development of WFP regional HQ and delivering facility services through a decade long partnership

The World Food Programme is a UN organization that provides food assistance globally. It's the largest humanitarian organization and offers school meals. It was founded in 1961 and operates in 80 countries, with headquarters in Rome.

 Achievement

I was able to construct a headquarters for the World Food Programme in the Northern frontier region of Kenya. This office plays a crucial role in assisting the communities of Rift Valley and North Eastern Kenya, which have been suffering from conflicts. I have through the past 15 years built a trusted partnership with WFP in delivering a critical and functioning regional Head Quarter. On going activities include contract management, financial negotiations, maintenance planning and technical and security upgrades.

The Samburu-Turkana communities living in the southern part of Lake Turkana in northern Kenya have a history of conflict. The conflict is mainly due to land disputes, unequal resource distribution, and tension between herders and landowners. This persistent violence has had disastrous consequences, particularly for women.

The head office played a pivotal role in providing necessary help to the communities.
